Posted Tuesday, May 06, 2014 by Tim Hower
Hoggard advanced to the third round of the 4A dual team tennis playoffs for the first time since 2010 when Pinecrest forfeited Tuesday's match.

The Vikings will host Millbrook next Tuesday at 4 p.m. The two teams played earlier this season with the Wildcats earning a 6-3 decision.

Noah Milliken and Chase Horton will represent Hoggard in doubles at the 4A individual state championships on Thursday and Friday at Millbrook Exchange Park in Raleigh.

The opening two rounds will be played Thursday and the semifinals and finals are slated to be played Friday.

Milliken and Horton claimed the top spot in the East Region with a three set win over South Central's Jonathan O'Neal and Jacob Matthews last Saturday.

The Vikings duo will open the state tournament against Charlotte Catholic's Patrick Menkhaus and Jack Deering, who finished fourth in the West Region.
