Vikings beat NHHS, move into tie for first

Hoggard captured five singles matches en route to a 7-2 victory over New Hanover on Thursday afternoon at the Jeff Holcomb Tennis Complex.

The Wildcats and Vikings are now tied atop the Mideastern Conference standings. New Hanover won the first meeting 7-2.

Senior Noah Milliken, playing for the first time in three matches due to a knee injury, capped the match victory with a 2-6, 6-4, 12-10 win over Marshall Waren at No. 1 singles.

Other singles winners for Hoggard (8-2, 7-1) were Chase Horton, Matt Jensen, Miles Hirchak and Dom Scialabba.

The Vikings travel to West Brunswick at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
