Vikings earn another 9-0 win

Posted Thursday, March 20, 2014 by Tim Hower

For the second consecutive day, Hoggard earned a 9-0 sweep of a Brunswick County opponent.

The Vikings claimed five straight-set singles matches and lost just 4 games in doubles en route to the victory over South Brunswick.

Junior Chase Horton continued to be the catalyst. He won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to improve to 8-0 on the season. Matt Jensen improved to 7-1 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3.

Dom Scialabba and Dillon Cook wasted little time in earning an 8-0 decision at No. 3 doubles.

Hoggard (6-2, 5-1) travels to Topsail at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
