No. 4 Millbrook too much for Vikings

Hoggard was unable to take a court off No. 4 Millbrook on Friday afternoon in the Port City Invitational. The Wildcats, who finished as the state runner-up last season, showed their depth by taking all six singled matches while only dropping one set.
The Vikings (1-2) continued to be plagued by the injury bug. Hoggard played without No. 2 player Matt Johnson and No. 1 seed Noah Milliken had to retire with an injury after dropping five consecutive games in the second set to Chris Mahan.
No. 4 player Charlie Opper is still battling shoulder problems and was forced to serve underhand for the entire match.
Hoggard squares off against Ashley on Monday and Laney on Thursday this week. Both matches are non-conference however.
